Overseas internship leads to career: “My journalism internship was based at the Nehemiah Center in Managua, Nicaragua, through Trinity’s semester abroad program. It was clear that God had this planned all along, because somehow it fit my schedule and plans to graduate in May 2011. God opened a door, and I knew better than to close it. The knowledge and experience I gained was incredible. The main thing I gained was confidence; the internship helped me to see that I could produce a quality product and service. The skills that I learned I will use for the rest of my life. I believe I wouldn’t have been offered my position without the experience of this internship on my resume.”
Life-changing residence life: “Being at Trinity impacted me greatly in all areas of my life. I served for two years as Resident Assistant and for one year as a First Year Forum mentor. ResLife was a 24-hour a day job. I spent hours praying for each of my girls, talking with them through difficult situations, studying the Bible with them, and offering my room as an oasis; that community is what I miss most about Trinity. I learned valuable lessons in how to reach people where they are and how to have excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.”
