Today is another cold day in Georgia! After Chapel the group started working on pruning and thinning the blueberry fields. While this sounds like easy work, we battled thorny vines and plants and had to decide as a group which blueberry bushes would be kept, and which would be cut down. By the end of the day, we were blueberry pruning experts! Late in the afternoon the group visited the Global Village and Discovery Center at Habitat for Humanity International in Americus. Here we were able to see what poverty housing looks like and visit examples of the types of homes that Habitat for Humanity builds around the world. We were also given a tour of Habitat for Humanity International’s headquarters. Tonight the group ate with the Koinonia residents and enjoyed another evening of discussion followed by a rousing game of Bananagrams with Sarah!
