After Chapel, Brendan told us that if we worked hard today, we could completely finish pruning and thinning the blueberry fields! This was all the encouragement we needed to work extra hard so that we could finish this task which will be a great service to Koinonia community. After work we cleaned the guest house and headed into town for dinner and then to the Dalva family’s home for dessert and coffee. The Dalva’s have their three school aged children enrolled in the Koinonia Home School Cooperative Group and have worked to incorporate some aspects of permaculture in their life. The students played an energetic game of one move ninja with the kids before heading back to Koinonia to pack for the long trip back to Palos Heights.
