Licensed teachers have an even more convenient way to earn their English as a Second Language (ESL) or Bilingual endorsement. This Adult Studies accelerated program will be offered entirely online this fall. All six online courses (18 credits) can be taken from the comfort of a student’s home and completed in one year.
Trinity offers in-depth coursework and proven methodology at an accelerated level that will equip licensed teachers to work with the growing population of English language learners. A second language is not required for ESL endorsement. Classes begin this September.
Students have been hired as ESL teachers even while they were still in the program.
Dr. Trina Vallone
“Offering the program online will afford more teachers the opportunity to earn this important endorsement. Some students have been hired as ESL teachers while they were still in the program,” said Dr. Trina Vallone ’99, coordinator for the Adult Studies ESL/Bilingual program. “Teachers who have gone through our program have had great success working with students from many cultural backgrounds.”
Said Trinity graduate Theresa Poulsen ’09, “Obtaining my ESL endorsement has equipped me with more knowledge of how to reach learners’ unique needs and has opened up new teaching opportunities for me.”
