Scholarship Universe FAQ

This is Trinity’s online scholarship search and application system for both Trinity and outside scholarships.

Both newly admitted and returning students are eligible to use Scholarship Universe to apply for scholarships.

Yes!  You can see what scholarships are available for application by going to https://trnty.scholarshipuniverse.com/public

Once you have been admitted to Trinity, you will be assigned your Student Credentials which will give you access to this and your student portal.    To access this resource:

• Go to https://trnty.scholarshipuniverse.com and use your student credentials to log in.
• If your login is successful and you are a first-time user, you will be shown a Welcome Page to help you get started in building a profile.
• If your login is successful and you are a returning user, you will be shown your dashboard.
• If your login is unsuccessful, contact the IT Help desk at help.desk@trnty.edu

First Visit:

The first time you log into Scholarship Universe, you will be shown a welcome page that will help you build your profile.   On this page, you have the option to enter your phone number to get text updates related to your applications or scholarships.  We recommend taking advantage of this option so you will be able to respond to application or scholarship requirements as soon as notified.  Once this step is done or you choose not to, click “I’m Ready!”

The dashboard is your homepage for future visits.  It has all the information needed to all scholarships that you qualify for.

Begin the Application Process:

You can start entering your information in one of 2 ways:

1.  Desktop:   Click on the banner that says “You still have outstanding questions that may qualify you for more opportunities!  Click here to continue answering more matching questions.”
   Mobile:  Click on the box that says “Answer more questions.”
2. Desktop: Click on the Questions icon on the left navigation menu.
   Mobile:   Click on the Questions icon in the left corner on the expanding menu.

Update Profile Questions to Identify Possible Scholarships:

If you are new to Scholarship Universe, you will be prompted to add profile information when you visit the Questions section.  These questions will help the system know what scholarship opportunities you may be eligible for.

• Fill out the introduction information and choose to Skip or Continue to answer available questions.
• You may choose to not answer individual questions by selecting N/A.

Important:  Some questions may have been pre-populated answers for you.  Any pre-populated answers are directly linked to university records and cannot be edited within the system.  If you click on the pencil icon on a desktop or edit button on a mobile device for any pre-populated answers, you will be presented a blank page.

If you are returning to Scholarship Universe, you can update your existing answer or add new information as long as they are not information that comes directly from your student record.

• Click on “Answer More Questions and answer any questions that are displayed.
• You may use the Skip button and come back to the questions at another time.
• You may edit your answers by click on the Pencil icon on desktops or selecting the Edit button on mobile.

Important:  Some questions may have been pre-populated answers for you.  Any pre-populated answers are directly linked to university records and cannot be edited within the system.  If you click on the pencil icon on a desktop or edit button on a mobile device for any pre-populated answers, you will be presented a blank page.

Once you have completed the questions in the Questions Section, you can apply to the scholarships that you are eligible for.  This page has 3 categories:

• Ready to Start: Scholarships on this page are ones you qualify for and can complete an application.   Please note that one application may be attached to multiple scholarships.
• In Progress:  Scholarships on this tab are the applications that you have started working on but have not yet submitted.  Pressing “Continue” will save your answers.
• Submitted:  Scholarship applications that have been completed and submitted are in this tab.  Please note that once an application is submitted, you cannot go back and edit the responses provided.  We recommend using “Continue” to save your work on incomplete applications.  Do NOT press submit until you are confident that the answers you have provided are the final ones you wish.

Click on Applications on the left navigation menu and you will be directed to the Applications page where you will see a list of scholarships that you can submit.

To be considered for our scholarships offered at Trinity, we encourage students to complete their application(s) by the corresponding deadline dates:

High School Seniors: January 12th
Transfer Students: January 12th
Returning Undergraduate Students: May 1st*
Graduate Students: August 1st – May 1st* 

PLEASE NOTE: Applications must be submitted by 11:59 pm Central Standard Time (CST) on the appropriate priority deadline date to be eligible for consideration. Late and incomplete applications will not be reviewed. Please apply, upload, and submit all scholarship materials within the scholarship universe platform. Scholarship materials sent to the Financial Aid office or email address will not be reviewed. Certain Trinity scholarships will not require an application and will be a direct award that students will match to based on imported student data and questions answered so answer as many as possible.

* Select scholarships may have different deadline dates. Please review the scholarship description for the specific priority deadline date.

Review your awarded scholarship(s) in the “Awards” tab and complete any required action here.

Scholarship Universe includes a search engine for over 15,000 scholarships that are sponsored by individuals and organizations that are not part of Trinity Christian College.  When you log into your dashboard, you will see a personalized list of external scholarships that you appear to meet the basic eligibility criteria and links to the websites where you can learn more about each one.  External global scholarships have a global icon next to the title to differentiate between institutional and external ones.   You are responsible for verifying the validity and accuracy of all information.

All global scholarships are vetted by our Scholarship Universe partners and are credible scholarship resources.
