All are welcome to Trinity’s Chapel Services, where we sing, reflect, pray, and fellowship together in community on Fridays.

Ozinga Chapel will be the host of a Red Cross blood donation drive on Tuesday, Sept. 21 from 9 am to 2 pm.

Every day, blood donors help patients of all ages: accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those battling cancer. In fact, every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. To find out more and register for an appointment, visit the Red Cross website.

In a Web: An Ecologist’s View of Being Made in Relationship

An ecologist’s job is to study relationships in nature—how living things are interacting with the natural world around them. Sometimes we humans tend to underestimate our own connectedness with the rest of creation. How can we better recognize our relationships with creation and thus seek to fulfill our role as caretakers of creation? A starting point to consider is attentiveness to our neighbors here at Trinity—neighbors such as raccoons, warblers, and dragonfly nymphs who share our Trinity “backyard” with us.

It Is Well With my Soul (and Body and Mind)

Wellness is an important aspect of life, it is important for everyone and it is something that is required of us by God. As Christians, we are held to a higher standard (and given greater opportunity) of wellness which involves peace, wholeness and holistic wellness. This lecture will connect the song “When Peace Like a River” with the holistic view of wellness and applications will be made for a Christian perspective on wellness.

Cross-Shaped Chemistry

In a world of complex problems, chemists claim solutions.  How should what we have learned from past strategies frame our processes for the future?  As Christians who are scientists engage with science, a particular call is placed on us to replace our goals with a process of worship.  That call doesn’t stop with scientists, but extends into the public sphere, calling Christians also to responsible consumption of goods, discerning engagement with media, and worshipful engagement with public policy.  We’ll talk about all that, but we’ll also get to talk about why our lab is starting to look like a kitchen.
