What drew you to Trinity and what do you love about working here?
Being at Trinity is like being home! I spent time as a child running around the campus while my brother and sister were students (and my mom was part of the cooking committee for the Trinity Women’s Guild). I was a Trinity student myself in the ‘70s and ‘80s, and I then worked here for many years until our children came along. My husband has also been a Trinity employee for decades. And, now all of our children are Trinity grads! When the opportunity came along to return as an employee again, I was happy to do so. I love the focus on Christian scholarship, and the emphasis on helping students learn to live out their calling as Christians in their chosen field.

What does a typical day at work look like for you?
I help to support the nursing faculty and students. There’s a lot of behind-the-scenes administrative work that goes on in this department, such as following up on student academic progress, organizing clinical placements for our juniors and seniors, and most importantly, keeping the candy bowl filled for the hard-working students and professors!

What did you do before you came to Trinity?
While our children were progressing through school, I was an instructor then principal and curriculum director at American School, a distance education high school based in Lansing, Ill. I moved over to Illiana Christian High School and was the director of admissions for several years.

What do you do when you aren’t working?
My husband and I are involved in music ministry and visiting new members and shut-ins at our church and we enjoy traveling together. I also love to bake desserts and decorate cakes and cookies, so I get to spend some joyful hours reviewing, developing, and trying out recipes and techniques.
