With a B.S.W. degree from Trinity, you will be prepared to help change lives and communities. Our program emphasizes that community well-being is essential to a common good, that each community has gifts and assets, and that we are called to participate in the life of a community.
With Trinity’s location less than 25 miles from downtown Chicago, you will have the opportunity to fulfil your calling to Christ-like service through many service-learning and field-education experiences. Trinity’s social work program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
As a professional degree program, social work students are not required to have a minor to graduate from Trinity. For those students who are interested in pursuing a minor below, are suggested options that complement the social work major well:

A minor in neuroscience and behavior will provide invaluable insights the brain and nervous system. Your coursework will encompass basic research skills, the brain and cognition, emotion and motivation, and behavioral pharmacology. The neuroscience and behavior minor can be paired with a major in biology and other degrees.

With a nursing degree from Trinity Christian College, you will be prepared academically and clinically to care for client’s physical, spiritual, and mental needs and minister to souls. With small class sizes, caring professors, high-tech facilities, and an education grounded in a Christian environment, Trinity’s B.S.N. graduates learn to operate from the common nursing frameworks of caring, self-care, and care management.
Our students gain hands-on experience in the Cynthia Sander Nursing Lab, which includes simulation labs with high-fidelity manikins that exhibit a variety of symptoms and automatically respond to intervention. This allows you to polish your skills in a safe and controlled environment.
And Trinity’s nursing program prepares you for a career once you graduate. You won’t just graduate with a B.S.N., you will also receive a minor in science. Trinity is proud to have the highest six-year NCLEX average of any BSN or ADN program in Illinois.

Trinity Nursing Admission
The direct admit admission is a competitive application process, and there are a limited number of direct admissions into the Nursing major.
Criteria for Direct Admission
To be considered for direct admission to Trinity Christian College’s Nursing major, you must meet the following requirements:
- Apply for admission to Trinity Christian College
- Indicate Nursing as your preferred major
- Have an incoming cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Submit a letter of recommendation
- Submit a test score: 24 ACT or 1160 SAT
If you are not admitted to the Nursing major through the direct admissions pathway, you can be admitted to Trinity as a Pre-Nursing major. Most students transition from Pre-Nursing to Nursing after completing their first academic year.
Criteria for Non-Direct Admission
- Apply for admission to Trinity Christian College
- Indicate Nursing as your preferred major
- Submit a letter of recommendation
- Meet one of the following criteria:
- Earn a test score: 19 ACT or 990 SAT
- Get a score of 244 on the Accuplacer Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra, and Statistics test and a score of 255 on the Accuplacer Reading test
- Complete a college algebra course with a grade of C or higher
- Meet college admission standards for unconditional admission
Criteria for Transitioning from Pre-Nursing to Nursing
Students who are not direct admitted to the Nursing program will declare Pre-Nursing as their major. Students’ transcripts will be reviewed after they complete their first academic year. Required for transition from Pre-Nursing to Nursing as a major are the following: a) successful completion of both CHEM 101 and CHEM 102 with minimum grades of C or better, b) a cumulative science GPA of 2.7, and c) the need to repeat no more than one required Foundations course.
Students who do not meet the qualifying test scores can move to a five-year academic plan to complete the prerequisites for CHEM 101 that will need to be taken and passed prior to entrance to the Nursing major.

Criteria for Transitioning from Pre-Nursing to Nursing
Students who are not direct admitted to the Nursing program will declare Pre-Nursing as their major. Students’ transcripts will be reviewed after they complete their first and second academic years. A degree in Special Education from Trinity is for you
You have a passion to help children who have special needs, and Trinity can get you ready.
When you choose to double major in special education from Trinity, you can pursue another major leading to a second endorsement (elementary, middle grades, a secondary program, or K-12 specialist program). The double major can be completed in four years. Special education is also a stand-alone major that can be combined with another high area of need – English as a Second Language or Bilingual Education. Special education majors also earn an education minor.
Trinity offers a Pre-K to Age 21 licensure with an endorsement in Learning Behavior Specialist I.
