Launch your future with a B.A. from Trinity

The global community needs those in the criminal justice system who are compassionate professionals that apply justice to those accused of breaking laws. And at Trinity, you will also learn about restoration for those who commit crimes, and even greater restitution for crime victims and society in general.

We honor the biblical and social bases of the law enforcement and justice systems. Our faculty also focus on how the criminal justice system is an integral part of other social institutions. We believe that our graduates should be well educated, resolute, just, and seasoned with Christian love.

And since Trinity is located just 25 miles from downtown Chicago, you will be able to apply your knowledge and gain experience in urban communities, courtrooms, and correctional facilities.

Graduates of the criminal justice program are equipped to seek their vocation in local and state police forces; federal law enforcement agencies; peacemaking, community-building, and justice innovation; conventional and alternative punishment systems; reintroducing prisoners into civilian society; and the criminal court system. Our alumni are Chicago Police Department officers, serve in the U.S. military, work in private security, and are employed by federal agencies.

Trinity will prepare you for compassionate service

At Trinity, our nursing program is small and mighty. With a nursing degree from Trinity Christian College, you will be prepared academically and clinically to  care for client’s physical, spiritual, and mental needs and minister to souls. With small class sizes, caring professors, high-tech facilities, and an education grounded in a Christian environment, Trinity’s B.S.N. graduates learn to operate from the common nursing frameworks of caring, self-care, and care management.

Our students gain hands-on experience in the Cynthia Sander Nursing Lab, which includes simulation labs with high-fidelity manikins that exhibit a variety of symptoms and automatically respond to intervention. This allows you to polish your skills in a safe and controlled environment.

And Trinity’s nursing program prepares you for a career once you graduate. You won’t just graduate with a B.S.N., you will also receive a minor in science.  Trinity is proud to have the highest six-year NCLEX average of any BSN or ADN program in Illinois.

Since we are located less than 25 miles from downtown Chicago, our students complete the clinical portions of our nursing program at some of the leading healthcare organizations in the nation.

A degree in Special Education from Trinity is for you

You have a passion to help children who have special needs, and Trinity can get you ready.

When you choose to double major in special education from Trinity, you can pursue another major leading to a second endorsement (elementary, middle grades, a secondary program, or K-12 specialist program). The double major can be completed in four years. Special education is also a stand-alone major that can be combined with another high area of need – English as a Second Language or Bilingual Education. Special education majors also earn an education minor.

Trinity offers a Pre-K to Age 21 licensure with an endorsement in Learning Behavior Specialist I.

Gain Momentum with Intensive Studies

A strong background in the physical and biological sciences will give you an advantage when you enter into doctoral level professional training programs in the health sciences.

Completion of a biology and/or chemistry major along with the cognate requirements provides such a background and includes the required courses for entering schools of medicine (as well as dentistry, optometry, osteopathic medicine, podiatry, and chiropractic).

Such schools require a specific entrance exam; students should work closely with their advisers to ensure they are prepared for the exam.

At Trinity, you will develop a program of study based on the type of program and the particular school you want to attend.

Pursue your minor at Trinity

With a minor in urban studies, you will delve into advanced urban sociology and its analysis and application. And your studies will be more than theoretical—since Trinity is less than 25 miles from downtown Chicago, you will have unparalleled opportunities for hands-on learning in the nation’s third-largest city.

Experience diverse learning in a diverse community

With a minor in Black Studies, you will explore the global experience of people of African descent through history, literature, music, politics, psychology, and sociology. A black studies minor will increase your knowledge of black culture and help you better understand the world.

The interdisciplinary nature of the minor will also help you develop the ability to consider the world from multiple perspectives, enhancing your understanding of your major field and better preparing you for a career or graduate studies.

The Black Studies minor is an important part of Trinity’s mission. By increasing your overall knowledge about the diverse peoples of God’s kingdom and their legacy, you will better understand both the brokenness of the world and the possibilities for redemption. Black Studies minor is beneficial to students of any race, ethnicity, or major and may be of particular interest for those considering programs in history, English, social work, or education.

Launch your future with a minor from Trinity

The growing number of English language learners is transforming our schools.  Along with enriching our communities, teachers are also challenged to recognize the unique needs of these students.

In order to prepare teachers for these challenges, Trinity offers a minor in English as a second language/bilingual. This minor meets the State of Illinois requirements of endorsement to work in English as a second language or bilingual education classroom. Students who pursue the bilingual endorsement must take the applicable Target Language Proficiency test.
