The program combines a major in computer science with a minor in the field of your choice. This program of study introduces you to key areas of computing such as programming languages, data structures, operating systems, networks, and more. You will also learn important computer science concepts that further empower you to use and design computer technologies and understand them more deeply. At the same time, you will acquire new insight and expertise that enable you to discover creative uses of computer programs for solving problems and helping others.

If you have a passion for recreation and sports and want to share that with others, a B.S. from Trinity may be for you. This degree is geared towards those who feel called to become recreation directors, managers or administrators in the areas of recreation, park districts, YMCAs, Boys and Girls Clubs, private, and other sport-related organizations.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there will be a 26 percent increase in coaching and scouting jobs through 2030 and a 16 percent increase in recreation workers through 2030.

The recreation and sport management degree will encompass courses in physical education; business; accounting, communication art; and computer science. This degree will prepare students to be strong, diverse, and Christian leaders in the world of recreation and sport management.

If you have a passion for exploring innovative organization, Trinity’s minor in entrepreneurship will provide invaluable insights as you launch your career. Along with our Center for Entrepreneurship and Community Empowerment, entrepreneurial management majors engage in experiential learning opportunities in creativity and innovation, change management, the startup process.

A minor in entrepreneurship can augment a degree in accountancy, finance, marketing and other degrees. You will explore principles of accounting, as well as theories of marketing and management.

Gain Momentum with Intensive Studies

A strong background in the physical and biological sciences will give you an advantage when you enter into doctoral level professional training programs in the health sciences.

Completion of a biology and/or chemistry major along with the cognate requirements provides such a background and includes the required courses for entering schools of medicine (as well as dentistry, optometry, osteopathic medicine, podiatry, and chiropractic).

Such schools require a specific entrance exam; students should work closely with their advisers to ensure they are prepared for the exam.

When you earn a bachelor of art degree in biology education from Trinity, you won’t just study science through the lens of faith—you’ll learn to teach others, too. With this course of study, you will also minor in education.

Since Trinity is located less than 25 miles from downtown Chicago, you will study in one of the most dynamic science and healthcare hubs in the United States. Our students conduct research and study with the Au Sable Institute of Environmental Studies and with Associated Colleges of the Chicago Area, among other places.

Students who major in biology education are eligible for an Illinois Professional Educator License with an endorsement in secondary (grades 9-12) science: biology.
